Korean Endocrine Society is the active professional organization of endocrinologists and related scholars in Korea. The society is dedicated to promote excellence in clinical practice, endocrine research and education in the fields of endocrinology. The society's major objectives include being the center for endocrinologists, scientists and those who are interested in endocrinology, being the center responsible for training in endocrinology, promoting scientific research in endocrinology, and establishing connection with other international endocrine societies. |

Korean Endocrine Society was founded in 1982, and has made significant advancements. The members including endocrinologists, doctors and scientists gradually have built up to reach 766 persons at the present time. The training curriculum of subspecialty in Endocrinology and Metabolism was established in 1992, and 329 endocrinologists have been accredited by this board. The scientific activities started with the Annual Scientific Meeting and Inter-hospital Conference, and have been actively continuing to the present year. |

The diverse membership represents medicine, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, physiology, genetics, immunology, education, industry and allied health. Society members represent the full range of disciplines associated with endocrinologists: clinicians, researchers, educators, fellows and students, industry professionals and health professionals who are involved in the fields of endocrinology. These professionals are dedicated to the treatment and research of the full range of endocrine disorders: diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, obesity, pituitary disorder such as growth hormone deficiency, adrenal disorder and infertility. The members work to foster a greater understanding of endocrinology among the general public and practitioners of complementary medical disciplines, and to promote the interests of all endocrinologists at national scientific research and health policy level of government. |

The society publishes Journal of Korean Endocrine Society, an authoritative biomedical research journal about clinical and experimental endocrinology. Scientific meetings including the Annual Scientific Meeting, the Postgraduate Course of Endocrinology, the Endocrinology Update Seminar, the Educational Courses for Physicians and Inter-hospital Conferences are held each year, and focus on the most recent developments in all areas of endocrinology. Through these efforts, the scientific community is kept informed of the advances in clinical treatment and experimental research of endocrinology. The society also provides health information to public to promote good health and prevent endocrine disorders. |
